Ours is due next month and the problem is that we have sold our villa and we're staying in a friends house while they're in the UK. Therefore we havn't got a Kocan or a rental agreement.

We went down to the Immigration in Lefkosia to enquire and after being passed around to six different people an office lady who spoke English took us to the police office and translated what we needed to ask. We had done a draught of a letter from our friend stating he was allowing us to live there & they said it would be ok if it was made more "official" done through a solicitor and attached to a copy of his Kocan. This can only be done by us while we're in the UK for Xmas by which time our Residency will have run out 3 days after we leave Cyprus. When we explained this to the lady she said "no problem just do your residency when you get back in January, you'll get a 90 day visa & as long as you re-new within that time it's ok" .

We were always under the impression it had to run concurently .

Go to Ferish at the Driving School she will sort you out, just sorted out a friend of mine with similar problems

The Driving School is located in Girne just before the Police Station, two girls in there speak Perfect English and so helpful with any problems

Hi why dont you just prepare a rental agreement for say 3 months at a nominal rent, get it stamped at the tax office & use this as your proof of residency?
