Poetic justice if you ask me!

After years of isolating Turkish Cypriots and placing import/export embargoes, flight restrictions and trying every trick in the book to cripple TRNC (KKTC)....Greece is now in economic turmoil

SHAME !!

Long Live KKTC !

is the link you want...

Could you explain how Greece has managed to 'single-handedly' managed to get the UN Security council to pass resolutions about the 'invalidity' of 'TRNC' AND wants TR in the EU .... and must now be ridiculed ??!1

It's just that I seem to remember TR needing to talk 'Turkey'( sic) with the IMF and they ain't 'outta da woods', yet still...

After Greece goes down the pan the UK wont be to far behind, Morgan Stanley has seen the writing on the wall, the gold standard credit rating is due to hit the rocks which will put us in the same boat as the Greeks. Wont be Gords worry as the unelected buffoon will be trying his worst to win the the next election knowing he will never be able to get the UK out of the hole he's put us in.

Do you think this will make any difference to Greece's attitude towards Turkey in the EU?

Cant see Greeks taking their heads out the sand ther dead and burried. Same attitude as N.C when it comes to productivity, 65% of Greeks are employed by the goverment which is skint (as here) there only difference is nobodies bailing them out. Goverments frightened to change situation as its a vote loser (same here) result pandermonium and civil unrest (already starting to happen). Thank God or who ever, Mother Turkeys bailing this place out or no doubt a similar situation would occur here.

I think you need to brush up on that one, The IMF has been encouraged to offer financial help to the TR by 'outside influences' because it was hoped that the TR would change certain government policies in exchange for easy money.

But it has not and will not happen. Turkey is in a far more better financial state than most if not all EU member state countries.

Thanks, AJ,

I'm well sprced up, today ! ;)

I read the TR press... but I'm also aware the budget deficit will increase this year and that Civil Servants are being asked to take a pay increase 1.8 % less than forecast inflation .

Not everyone thinks TR should 'exclude' the option of the IMF

Dec. 3 (Bloomberg) -- Turkey’s credit ranking was lifted two levels to BB+, the highest speculative-grade status, by Fitch Ratings, which cited the economy’s “resilience” during the global financial crisis.

Turkey hasn’t receive emergency funding from international lenders including International Monetary Fund even after the country faced its worst slump on record, with the economy contracting 14.3 percent in the first quarter, the most since quarterly records started in 1987.

Turkey “has not needed an emergency IMF bailout nor to support the banking sector,” Fitch said. “There has been no significant pick-up in dollarization or capital flight.”

“This will close the IMF chapter and be a seal of approval as it will make it easier for Turkey to borrow,” said Tunc Yildirim, a director at Standard Unlu Menkul Degerler in Istanbul. “This is a pretty major move and the other rating agencies may follow."

Unfortunately others will not accept how strong Turkey is and is still becoming.

We will see and everyone has seen my predictions with regards to the second recession just about to hit the EU.

Take care
