It is a shame that people take time to criticise and make sarcastic comments against one of the few people who is giving up her own time to help others.



Marian makes slow but steady progress within the "system". The "system" here being totally differnt to the UK. You cannot go in thumping desks, shouting etc as some on this forum advocate, you have to play petty politics and at times kow tow to people you really want to kill!



We are currently working with Marian on a project to submit to try and make progress on our own home, as are many others. These people work quietly with Marian personally at the Pia Bella, by e-mail etc. They never appear on forums in TRNC for obvious reasons!!



So anyone that has a genuine query e-mail or telephone Marian and she will respond. OOPS her computer died on monday so e-mail may be delayed.



I spoke with her at Pia Bella yesterday and communicated today regarding our own issues and she is sorry about the web site but it will come back soon.

I have offered to help Marian with any aspect of her website, even to the extent of helping her put together a new one free of charge as her web hosting is quite obviously pretty terrible.



I know she is very busy but I have a feeling not all is as it seems.



My offer still stands.

Marian does a fantastic job, but the problems with the website are un-neccesary and frustrating to alot of people.

I agree with petez, a web presence is the best way of informing the 1500+ people who look to HBPG for a solution to their problems, about what is happening. They have no one else to turn to for regular updates and, like Marion, from personal experience I know what it is like to be in a situation where it looks like you're going to lose everything. Broken promises about the website being back on unsettles these people, most of whom are back in the UK facing another Christmas possibly struggling with the debt caused by paying for a property that hasn't materialised.



Before BullyB, rants at what I have written and turns it into a criticism of MS, all I am saying is why doesn't she take the time to communicate through Cyprus44 instead of through the pages of Cyprus Today and tell us what is really going on. Or, like petez feels too, is there something going on which she cannot tell us about?

From what little we know she does have a life other than helping others FREE OF CHARGE spending lots of time trying to sort her own problems out ( we all have them ) IWe do know there is a problem with one group wanting to represent all uk expats with the goverment & this has / is causing untold problems.



Marian is used to using Microsoft front page however she now has to use ftp and another program to update the website this may be proving to be difficult to grasp.

I can't see how leaving bulletins on Cyprus44, Twitter, Facebook or Cyprus Today means that you're aligned with any of these organisations. At least with the first three you don't get misquoted as I believe she must have been in the case of the Sante Fe victims where she was reported as supporting pouring more money into property owned by Koop Bank which they intended to auction.

I only offered to help set up her new website for her, I did not ask anything else in return.

Malcolm is right, there are so many ways to get information to people, you can set up a facebook group in minutes.

I am sure NCFP, Lincguide and Cyprus 44 would all let people know about it pretty quick.

Having personally attended a fair number of HBPG sessions at the Pia Bella Hotel on Tuesday afternoons, I have witnessed the pressure placed on Marian and her helpers by not only force of numbers, but the complexity of the problems for which remedial advice is being sought.



Is it any wonder that, faced with such a barrage of insurmountable problems, due to the lawlessness of TRNC, and being continuously fobbed off and ignored by duplicitous politicians, that Marian has been made, at times, thoroughly physically ill?



People should save their criticism for those that deserve it - the politicians, who obviously condone and support all this criminality.

Not necessarily, for example, yesterday there were 1159 "unique visitors" only 292 came via C44.

The fact remains that Marian Stokes deserves only the utmost admiration and recognition for her untiring efforts on behalf of so many desperate and disillusioned cheated people.



My hackles rise when I read of any criticism towards her, or her helpers, at HBPG.

I'll say it yet again, her website was used by property buyers and victims in the UK in order to gain update information. It has not been working for nearly 4 months, petez has offered to help her out. She seems to be having lots of problems WITH THE WEBSITE and there are no criticisms on this thread except against non-existent critics ON THIS BOARD. If you want to have a go at critics on NCFP why not go to that website and post your views.
