My daughter just cecked her passport and found to her horror that she forgot to renew her 90 days can anyone out there please advise?

Rush to the Police Station in Girne and/or Immigration, or cross the border and see what happens.

Nasty one! If she gets the right person at the border, she may well get a smile but make sure that a big smile is givne out, together with an 'Oh dear, I didn't realise.'

No guarantees of course, but a lot of those guys ARE human.

Go to the border at the ledra crossing ( hotel one) do not try and cross but go to the office and explain the situation to them. If she is a tourist they will probably fine her but it wont be much if you are honest with them. she wont be deported etc and she will get another stamp. The best thing to do is be honest. pay the fine and it will be the end of the matter. if she is here for a longer period, I would advise you to try and get a residence permit for her as then it dosnt look like your abusing the system in future as they may only give her another 30 days this time and if you continue to cross to get visas without this then you will be questioned every time you cross and eventually they will say no.

actually it's 72TL a day...i got stung a few years ago, and if you don't pay it on the spot, it doubles on re-entry....i ended up paying 1300stg...aaaaaaaargh!! To this this day i kick myself!

thanks everyone for your fast responses i nwill ensure that she gets the messages scruff in answer to your question in a couple of months she will have no need to get residency so why waste money giving it to the government. Dont nyou think they get enough out of us? Yes i know this time it has proved for her to be expensive but im sure she will be more vigilant next time.
