Why do we have power cuts every time it rains?

Tatlisu has had no power since yesterday morning (I am on generator now at work). In the last 6 weeks we have had 8 power cuts.

quite amazed here in catalkoy! this time last every time it rained the power went out - this year with the rain that we have had (especially in the early hours this morning!!!!) the power has stayed on - well done Kibtek

Since you had 8 power cuts in six weeks, it means that there is a fault in the system which they have not managed to cure. Probably its a cracked porcelain insulator on the 11KV line. As soon as it rains or you have a heavy fog it gets wet and shorts to earth, thus tripping the fuse.

You are probably right Ismet,every time it rains east of the power station we get power cuts,we had 5 yesterday alone.
