What a shame for Coventry. I was a student in Coventry in the 1960s (Lanchester College of Technology) and remember it as Baginton Airfield, used by Rootes to export "knocked down" Hillmans to Iran (the version of Hillman called the Pecan in Iran). The report I saw on SKY says it closed because Thomsonair had pulled out, but it is staying open for freight. Let us hope some other passenger airline moves in, such as Ryan Air.

BTW, what happened to plans by Ryanair to fly to N.Cyprus (they knocked LCA into touch as it is too expensive)
