Have you been in or at least seen this cafe? Has a big yellow M sign outside and sells meals such as Big Mac, McNuggets and Mc Chicken. According to CT today some American company is trying to take action against this small business. The company called McDonalds, it is believed by CT to have requested the American Embassy in RoC to request the government of TRNC to deal with this "fake fast food restaurant". Apparently a senior oficial from McDonalds has even visited Big Mac. A senior official from McD in RoC was also looking into the matter but "a trademark case was unlikely because we would have to sue in a court in the north which we do not recognise". Big Mac is registered and is a legal company in TRNC!! So good on Big Mac, a bloody nose for the interfering yanks. They will not help in trying to resolve the problems of Cyprus but will try and attack a legitimate small business man.

The 'big mac' has been a signature dish of mcDonalds since the 60's , he is playing off their image in order to attract customers, there is no way what he is doing is legal and he is blatantly breaching another companies trademarks. How would you feel if you bought a rolls royce and under the bonnet was a reliant robin engine..? It si the same thing However i am sure most people know its not an official mcDonalds so I don't think they have too much to worry about.

Actually the Big M sign outside carries the same yellow M as the Paris Metro, so perhaps the French should sue as people may think they can jump on a train and end up at Montmartre. Great place Big M, and the food is just the same as the Mackers all around the world. But are the Yanks upset, or has someone given a franchise? And why do the milk shake machine fixers have to come from Turkey, unless there is some real connection with Mackers (Australia, by the way for MacDonalds)

they probably get their supplies from Mcdonalds suppliers but don't officially have a franchise.. just another quirk of North Cyprus..(either that or it is just a co-incidence and he has never heard of Mcdonalds!)

Not sure if you have a Hardees in Cyprus but if you do try the sliced beef & Chedder with curly fries. I don't often eat fast food but this way better than the competition.

its a blatant rip of the McDonalds brand - why should they trade off the McDonalds name - particularly when "Big Mac's" burgers tast more like cardboard than the real McDonald's varieties.... How the hell can the TRNC ever expect to gain the respect of other countries if it allows it's business's to blatently infringe international trade marks ??
