| Spent three and a half stressful hours last night booking a few flights on their new website, what a disaster, although finally managed to print off the tickets. Have spent over two hours tonight trying to book another flight but would not accept the card details, only to find that they have tried to bill me five times for the one transaction. Surely someone can sort out their website all I am getting are error codes. Last night it would not work on Firefox and this evening will not work on IE. I am now in need of a beer stress reliever. | Mike, We prefer to fly Pegasus every time but would never book on line again. We booked three flights in one go and they charged us twice for each one and even billed us for one of the flights on a credit card we used last year but did not use on this particular transaction! We have been 4 months trying to sort it out. Then about a month ago we were checking a statement for something un related and there was another £142 taken by Pegasus! We just got a letter from Barclaycard this week saying it should all be reimbursed by Dec 23rd. Please make sure you check your statements carefully from now!! |

I have never been successful booking on line with Pegasus so I usually go to their office in Girne. But Tom would be your best bet. Very helpful

Pegasus rules restrict the number of times you can use the same credit card on a particular day. Use a different card and you should be ok.

I have also been charged twice when I booked last month for a flight in Jan. Stst/Ercan I contacted them by phone and email, and they took all necessary details. I also stated that I am a regular customer and this never happened before. Two more emails, no response, so have contacted Credit card bank and they say I will be reimbursed. It has not happened before but am wary now of booking on-line with them. First time I completed booking it didn't respond so I did it again, and 2nd time it confirmed a booking, but it took same amount off twice in same day from card.

It took my partner taking a trip to Stansted to plead with the girl on the check in counter to PLEASE find us a human contact to speak to about our problem. Thats the only reason we got it sorted in the end (hopefully) Even Barclaycard couldnt get a response from them!

Spent another stressful couple of hours last night trying to book more flights. Everything ok until I tried to pay for them but kept being rejected. I have a Halifax Electron Visa card which I only use for flights to avoid Credit and Debit card charges. Contacted the bank and they said there was no problem, the airline was at fault. Spoke to a really helpful chap at Pegasus call centre today and he sorted it in a few minutes and told me it was Halifax's fault. Contacted Halifax again and they finally admitted it was them at fault so halifax card will shortly be emptied and told to stick it where the sun don't shine. Must thank the guy in the Pegasus call centre as he went out of his way to assist and confirmation of flights was there in seconds. Mike.

Yep I agree Pegasus Airlines Website is a mess just can't book anything on it ? I had no problems with the old site at all, and because of the "who cares" attitude at the office by H.S.B.C I've given up totally and don't book with them.

They have become a nightmare to book with now. The new website is cr*p,I couldn't get past the verification section for my credit card details. I'm now watching my internet baking like a hawk for 2 payments going out. I've sent a request to Tom for a flight instead. So much for "progress"

Msg 4 + 21 This is another marketing site set up by Cyprus Premier - if these flights are under their ATOL Bond (which they say they are) the flights are charter seats. Which according to Pegasus should be sold as part of a holiday package.

Tom; Msg 23 The tour operator / package airline seats are bought and paid for in advance by the Tour Operators, regardless of whether they are used or not. If they can't sell them as part of a package, in order to cover losses and for the aircraft not to fly with empty seats, the tour operator will try to shift them as flight only. The airlines overlook this, as ultimately they are working as partners and buy many 1000s of seats per year. Green Island Holidays take full page adverts in the Turkish Cypriot Newspapers in London advertising the seats, and CTA / Pegasus are well aware. The small print of the adverts states something like "all flights & prices include 1 nights accommodation in a hotel of our choice". Again, the customer overlooks this!

Msg 24 I did not see "all flights & prices include 1 nights accommodation in a hotel of our choice" on the site (nor that of their parent) and if it is not visible or readily seen that is not liable to be accepted by UK trading standards is it. There are many usages that imply gonorthcyprus are Pegasus which is rather misleading and there are discounts offered that Pegasus do not offer (press, disabled etc.) I am not trying to knock them but I would say they should be more open. I do reiterate the seats are sold against Pegasus rules for tour opertaors & just because one company may break the rules it does not mean another should does it?

I think it makes no difference to the client whether the seat purchased is published fare or tour operator / BT. The client pays for the ticket and uses the seat. If any rules are broken it is between the airline & the tour operator. If a tour operator breaks the airline rules on how they should use the ticket, then I'm guessing the only downside is that the airline can chose not to sell to that tour operator anymore as they misuse the seats. I'm guessing in the current climate, even BA would not turn away a tour operator that buys 1000s of seats per year and pays in advance.

Msg 26 I think it makes no difference to the client whether the seat purchased is published fare or tour operator It most certainly does make a difference. Perhaps not 99% of the time, but when it goes wrong, the client is left with no protection and no compensation. I'm sure Tom could tell you all about the "Affinity Group" charters from the 1960s, and the swoops that were made by the authorities, and the subsequent denying of boarding. It certainly made a difference then.

Msg 27: Please explain, I'm not aware of "affinity group" from 60s. I believe that if you pay by credit card you are guaranteed to get your money back if the airline folds whichever type of flight you are buying. Similarly, if you buy a tour operators seat and the tour operator folds, you get your money back from Credit Card or ATOL as demonstrated most recently a couple of years ago when Jewels of the World/TWI folded and people had bought AtlasJet seats through them and their agents. Some were scheduled, some were Tour operator. It made no difference, everybody was repatriated if they were in Cyprus, or got refunds if they had not yet flown.

I have found that you need to contact your card company each time you book to be sure of it going through. They are on hi fraud list. My card gets rejected if I do not phone but ok when I do. Col
