My daughter intends to buy some but she asked me a question which I could not answer: How are they made and do they include any chemicals which may be harmful? For example if they include pieces of chipboards they may be harmful because chipboards include some chemicals which hold them together. ismet

I believe they are made from hardwood sawdust as a furniture manufacturing byproduct. I imagine there must be a bonding agent but I have not found this to cause any problems when burning them.

unless you are burning them in a log burner, where you can control the burning process, you will be using lots of them.... Its not dificult to use 1 or more bags a night.....

We only use them as "kindling" to get the fire hot enough to take logs. They are also good at resurrecting a fire which has almost gone out.

The Eco logs are smokeless and I believe are made of hardwood. We use the broken off pieces as kindling then mix them with the slower burning logs. The heat off them is lovely! We do use them in a wood burner. They are based somewhere in Lapta now and do deliver. The price is till the end of the year and is a real bargain, they are 15tl in the supermarkets.
