A Scotsman, A Scoucer and a Turkish Cypriot in Esentepe

Yesterday I went to Esentepe to deliver the 1966 World Cup programme that I was given to auction here on Cyprus 44.



The gentleman who donated it also matched the winning bid in money, and handed over a cheque for more than the bid. So thank you Greg Keenan, a true Scotsman.



Next came the gentleman who bid for it he handed over cash in excess of what he bid for the programme, This time a scoucer. So a big thank you to Chegwin also known as Simon.



We met it Remzis Restaurant in Estentepe and here I also received a very warm welcome from the owners.



It is the first time in 4 years that I have been in Esentepe but it won't be another 4 years until I return.

It is a pleasure to help decent honest people, who dont look for anything personal by way of self gratification etc. in return for their efforts.

A lesson in humility to be learned by some of the self obsessed on these boards.

I agree Greg and Simon are really genuine generous people, I wish there were more people in the world like them.
