Perfectly. When I used to take my UK plated car across they questioned the insurance a few times, but let me through no problem.

Providing your car is legal in the UK it will be legal in the South, although you may get some remarks about entering through an illegal port when you pass through the Greek customs. You will need to show your UK driving licence and insurance cover, issued in the UK, which should be ok for any EU country. We drove down last year, stayed for six months and travelled to the South and back a number of times.

They may want to see your "yellow" temporary import form which you received from the TRNC. The life of this form ranges from 3 months to 12 months. Things may have changed, as it was about four years ago when I had UK plates.

re msg 3 It is the customs of the Republic of CYPRUS .. Greece is 300 miles the west ..... You need: 1/ Proof of ownership / permission to drive the vehicle from the owner 2/ Current UK / Road fund licence - and if the car is 3 yrs or over - a current MoT 3/ Insurance - pref with Green card 4/ Driver's licence - best if EU based...UK best of all If at all worried, cross at an SBA ( UK) crossing point

I have taken my UK registered car across to South on several occasions without any problems or the need to show any papers apart from insurance. As long as you have insurance cover it is fine. Biker

thank you all that has been a great help as I had been told I couldnt as it would be considered to be an illegal car having first been brought into the south as with so many things you just never know what to believe sorting fact from rumour can be very difficult
