Did anyone read the story in yesterdays Cyprus Today....

A Mother walks through flames to save her 4 children from 1 year to 11 years old.

They have nothing..... mother and children sleeping on floor and husband sleeping in car....

The home belonged to Father-in-law.

The local municipality is trying to help...

Any members in Tatlisu know how they are now.

I don't know what the procedure is, I have asked on here if any board members are in Tatlisu. A base is needed to drop off donations. The Mayor of Tatlisu Hayri Orcan said in news item in Cyprus Today that the municipality would do all they could to help.

I leave for Uk on Monday so could someone please organise a base and distribution of help for this family.

The childrens ages are Alp(boy) 9 years Hatice(girl) 7 years Fatma, (girl) 4 years and 1 year old Tahir. Not sure if that is boys or girls name.

I spoke to Nuket yesterday about this family, the social welfare office are looking into their situation and will help where needed. The main problem is knowing if they are a legal family here, if they are then there will be no problem in getting them help, if they are not legal then there may be problems.

Fire at Tatlisu

All donations can be made to the major at Tatlisu village - when you get to the village ask ayone where the Belidiyese is.

Sorry, yes I meant mayor - they wil put your donation in an envlope with your name and they also enter this in a book. I asked whether people who wish to donate can go to their own mayor wherever they live but they told med that you have to approach your own mayor and ask whether they will pass donations on.

Hubby and i would go to Tatlisu with your donated bedding etc and anything else that would need to be taken.I just would need directions of where the family were and maybe visit the Muhtar to pass on donations.

I will keep looking on the board if this is ok with everyone.Don't want to tread on any toes.

I have spoken with Nuket again and she has informed me that for the time being both families are being helped by the state and also by family and neighbours. They might need help later on and if so i will post on here. If anyone wants to make donations through the mayor then i presume that is still ok.
