Please can someone provide all the necessary information for applying for a Turkish Drivers License for the first time?

Where to go, documents needed, length of license, costs etc

The girls in the driving school can apply for your driving licence for you at a small cost they get all the forms and fill them in for you, they get ones for 3/10 years its up to you

The cost for a 10 year licence was 501 TL when I renewed mine in the Summer. Sorry, can't remember exactly the cost of a 2 or 3 year licence, but I think they were 200 and 300 TL respectively. The prices are displayed in the tax office in Girne near to the roundabout with the fountain.

Just made enquiries regarding this today. You need 2 passport photos, your passport and the relevant form according to how many years you want this to run for. 3 year licence was 300 TL.

I'm not sure if you can get the licence in Girne but we had to go to Lefkosa. The office is just a short walk from the building you get your residency from.

Residency stamp is in your passport and licence obtained at the Tax Office, Girne (by Fountain Roundabout).

In addition to photocopies of the photo and residency stamp pages of your passport you also need a photocopy of the front and reverse of your existing driving licence.

Went to Girne Tax office today to get Hubby's first TRNC licence and was told for first licence you need to go to Lefkosa. Renewals only in Girne. Ah well another 2 trips to Lefkosa coming up. Wish I'd known that last Thursday as we were there getting his residency :(.
