A little bird(non turkey variety) told me that for a mere 25TL you can partake of a buffet on Christmas Eve from 7p.m. onwards in the very best of company. There is even a rumour that the carols will be sung in Italian.Of course any alcofrolics among you must pay for your drinks on top, but you might get a coffee thrown in at the end. Why not think of joining a bunch of nice people and share in una buonna natale before the big bash on the day itself. Nothing too grand or the pounds will pile on, but piling on the cheer and goodwill is a MUST. Of course if you are thinking of going it would help Guidos to know how many to cater for, so just phone 0533 833 6911 - and remember, numbers are limited. Happy Christmas to all.

Happy Christmas Marie. Sadly, the pounds have already piled on. Wish I could be there to join in the merriment. I and my American gal wish all of you there the very best of luck, and have a brilliant evening.

Sounds great - and the timing is not too bad if you want to try to make St Andrews (I am not sure if they have an Xmas eve service their number is 0392 815 4329 if someone wants to find out).

There is another thread about Christmas church services, but can't remember what it is. But for me, a 7p.;m. start at Guidos means a sensible hour and people can go on to do whatever they might otherwise do on Christmas Eve. But I hope that the buffet is not too calorie laden - the waistline can't take it. Mustn't end up like grandmother, as wide as she was tall! Hope some others of you might join us, but if not I just hope that no one feels lonely and cut off at the time of the year when friends and family matter. Again , a truly merry and blessed Christmas to all.

Yes of course there is flightholiday - there is your wife, my 'old man' and mamachina and her other half - maybe others have been in touch with Lilli. And tomorrow there is the Chess and Backgammon Club at Guidos, so maybe some folk there may think it is a good idea and join us for what might turn out to be an 'elite evening'. And presumably Lilli will add her smile!

Steve -Msg 13 I would guess you would do well to book as otherwise they might not cater for you I think it needed some persuading for Guido to open up as he has a lot on for the following two days
