Look for earlier threads on Cyprus44, and also search the web. Mickyron is right - decision to be made later, and meanwhile the Orams are getting on with their lives. No one can do anything other than speculate at this stage, and that is hardly worth the energy expenditure. So, you are right that there was a case, and Mickyron is right about hearing the oucome.

Hi MarieB, As you seem to be the resident expert on this issue, in the absence of any communication from the couple themselves, and bearing in mind the significant point made by Ms Blair concerning the action against the Orams rather than against the TC who sold them the land, I have a hypothetical I'd like your opinion about: IF there were a wealthy weirdo who for reasons of his own decided he wished to purchase the villa built by the Orams, and the Orams were happy to sell at his price, and did, what would then be the outcome of the court case? It's very probable that there is some legal bar on any dealings while the matter is sub judice, but if there were not, or if it could be circumvented...?

Think that if you have a summons/dispute in ownership against you regarding property you cannot sell with out a judges permission, or something like that.

I think the Orams would still be liable to pay the compensation to Mr A even if they sold the villa. If they sold but had a indemnity clause that the buyer accepted all liabilities then the new owner would be liable to the Orams.
