| Finally bought a Paraffin Heater but its stinking the house out not sure I am using the right fuel. Where can I can Paraffin and what is it called. The Turkish name so I know I am getting the right stuff. |

| Atakara Petrol near the Corner Bar sell Gas Yagi, which I believe is paraffin. |

| Should be Gaz Yagi and this translates as kerosene. |

| Keep the flame quite low then it doesn't smell.We get our parafin from the Green Garage in Alsancak.[its painted red on the left past Starling going towards Girne] |

| You must soak the wick for about 6 hours before using it. That is probably why it is smelling. Remedy, remove fuel from paraffin container, turn the wick to low and light it, and place outside and leave it there until it goes out. Refill the fuel tank and leave the wick for a few hours to absorb the fuel. Light it with wick turned down as low as possible. To make sure it is burning correctly there must be no blue flames evident above the top of the burner. Check the level of the flames 10 minutes after you have lit it, or you will fill the whole house with fumes. Modern day wicks will clean themselves if you follow this procedure. We try to do this once a week. |

| Please read the instructions supplied with your particular heater. Nine times out of ten if the heater is smoking and or smelly it's the user not the appliance. What make and model of heater do you have? |
