Is there anyone reading this topic that can repair my iron. It's a Tefal pro express turbo. The 'shush', steam thingy has died on me. I've tried washing/ flushing it through, to no avail. Can anyone help, it's the best iron I've ever had.

You could try descaler first before you fork out. It worked on mine. Good luck.

Thankyou both for your answers, but I think it may be electrical as the steam thingy doesn't even get warm.

Hi, You could dismantle it and look for a loose connection. Sometimes simply taking things apart and cleaning connections and reassemblimg them solves electrical problems.

Plenty of electrical DIY people in the cemetery. Get a new one, dont mess around with anything that involves water and electricity. You know it makes sense.

bazilbrush, I second that... - Although if you can find a local 'expert' to look at it, that's different

Thankyou Basil and Keith, I understand where you're coming from. I was hoping some bright 'spark' would reply who has the knowledge to fix it, as I don't think I have any chance of replacing it with the same model. I've seen cheaper ones, but they haven't the same 'shush' as my one did have!!!!

Be very, very careful about getting your iron 'Cypriotised', otherwise you may be in for a big, big shock! Bazilbrush has already given you the message - sound advice!

I dropped my iron and for some reason everything failed after that but I took it into the small electrical shop near the Bellapais lights and Huseyin fixed it for me. He does understand English fairly well, always a bonus! If you don't know it, it used to be Caner's electrical shop and it is situated on the road behind the Pia Bella Hotel between the off licence and a small grocers.
