Hi all, i was thinking of shipping a 21ft boat to nc it is on a good trailer so i was thinking of roll on roll off like you might with a car. Do you think this is possible and will the boat have to be of a certane age? ie less than 5 years old.

If you contact Drew at Turtlebay dive centre I am sure he can help as he brought his boat over a couple of years ago. In fact I think he towed it here all the way from Scotland.

I imported 26 boats in 1983, mostly sailing craft, but also 2 powerboats, and we had to pay customs duty. They came over in containers, got stuck for 6 months in Vigo, Portugal, (long story), Goverment changed so did the laws, need I go on? However, I would make enquiries from the customs just prior to your travelling overland, as the rules are always changing.

Hi, I think if you bring your boat through the sea from Turkey with its registered flag you dont need to pay tax. That means you should have two flags and one of have them have to be a Cypriot one. You get in touch with Ilkin captain who is the manager of the New Girne Marina and get more information about your question. His info is below. Web:www.delta-marina.com Mail: deltamarinacyp@gmail.com Tel:(0392) 815 54 91 (3 Lines) Fax: (0392) 815 82 12 I hope I could help you Thanks

I don't know where you get your information from trinsurance-two flags !!a boat flys the flag of the country of registration. in the case of the UK the Red Ensign What you have to fly when you enter another country and even that is what it means a courtesy is that country's flag from your starboard spreader or starboard flag halyard. After you have cleared customs, immigration and health. The problem in bringing a boat here by sea is that there are no berths, either in Delta or the old harbour. Keeping a boat on a trailer and launching it as required is expensive.

Hippo is correct, unless you can get a berth, it is a very difficult to find somewhere to launch, and when you can, very expensive, as my son has found. I gave him a boat last year, and he hasn't had it on the water as yet. He wishes to launch in the Karsyaka area.
