Two ways

1.Turn left at Fresco supermarket coming from girne

Go to top of road and turn right. follow the road around go passed two nursery schools. turn left at the second nursery school which takes you up a dirt track road called Zafer Sokak . Go to top and turn left Charcos is about 50 yards on the left.

2. Go through alsancak village turn up at the post office one way system. When you get to the top branch right and follow one way system around mosque down the hill and you will see a sign on the lamp post for CHarcos. Dont forget to book ahead tel no 05338763007

Passed atakara . passed the Belediye group of shops on left and post office turn up at post office and follow previous directions OR Pass the belediye and pass the post office dont know if you know Cenaps passed there keep going straight and you will come across the 1st nursery school then a driving school and the second nursery school turn directly up the dirt track Zafer Sokak to top and turn left. Enjoy

Fish yes, vegetarian no. BUT a friend of mine came over who is veagan and we told them and they made something special for them. It may be worth asking them. Truely lovely experiance.

Friends mentioned Charcos as being the place to go to. Arrived at 7.30 with two visitors. The place was packed. The wine came quickly. At 8.15 we went looking for a Menu and a waitress. The famous lamb chops were "off" as was the fish. At 9.20 we asked the waitress how much longer before the food came, 30 minutes said she, we left hungery and very fed up. They had totally overstreatched themselves with customers and were just not able to cope.



The friends went a few days later and were very disappointed. None of us have been back since. Two sides to every coin.

I was looking fwd to going as heard much about it on forum but last posting

puts me off somewhat. Afraid this is what happens when places get too popular.

Unfortunately i think they have had illness and a few staffing problems. No excuse i know but when you are asmall resturant difficult to find people at the last minute. Its worth giving them a second chance.

I too went to Charcos with 2 of our neighbours. We were very unimpressed and left feeling hungry. The famous chops were very average. The service was slow and the chef was smoking. Would not go again.

Think it is great but it has got very busy with a small kitchen I imagine that is difficult to cope with. Lamb chops always been good but do not know why they should be famous, christina is fab

Charcos was one of my parents favourite restaurants here in cyprus, i had not been for a year, so when my sister was staying she said " i must go there", she does not eat meat and ordered sword fish, i had the chicken shish, it was FAB!!!!!!! still as good as it was 1 year before!!! it was packed out, i must say that a table of people next to me did leave without eating - as they said they had waited too long - my meal which was ordered after them- was served to me in under an hour, great fresh home cooked food!!!!! and my sisters verdict - best meal she had ever eaten here in cyprus.

cant please everyone all of the time !!!!!
