I appreciate that TRNC is basically a Muslim country and their culture frowns on female exposure in any form. Could you guide me as to the attitudes to topless and nude sunbathing, indeed any form of exposure of female flesh, in this country, as both my Wife and myself do like to get "au natural" when on holiday in sunny and hot places. We of course have no wish to offend others, especially our host peoples.

Well, topless is okey in all beaches but please don't get your bottom off I think there is a nude beach camp in Karpas area, after you pass Thersea Hotel. In Karpas beaches, you may be nude since you probably won't find more than a couple of people max at any Karpas beach. Izzet

Thanks for prompt reply Izzet. Promise no naked sunbathing in Kyrenia, but pleased to hear that there are areas where we can safely get naked without offending either people or your laws. Dooody

Nude sunbathing in Kyrenia - now that would stir things up a bit! Certainly there are beaches in the Karpas where you may well be on your own all day, even in the height of summer. One of my favourite Karpas beaches is Dipkarpaz Halk beach, near the ruins of the Ayios Philon (Church of Philon). From the town of Dipkarpaz, follow signs for the Oasis or Karpaz Arch Houses, until you reach the ruins of the church. Look for the signpost and head down the dirt track to the beach. I can't say you'll always be alone there, but it's a lovely spot anytime of the year, clothed or not!
