A group of us went to this restaurant last night, it's on the mountain road from Catalkoy to Lefkosa just up from KAR and opposite the turning for Buffovento Castle. We've been before but always during the day. They had 2 open fires plus an interesting oven contraption to keep the room warm and cosy. One of the party had been before and recommended the normal rather than full meze, how right she was. No sooner had one dish been finished than a replacement appeared together with the most enormous hot and still steaming breads. No surprise that we were all nearly full when the mixed kebabs arrived. Then followed fresh fruit, salted popcorn and groans all round. Complimentary tea and coffee was offered too. We were all pleasantly surprised when the bill came and worked out at 30 TL per head including a good tip. Tremendous value for money, great food and service, we will be going back.

Ditto Aylin, we went there last year. We had a lovely drive from Esentepe thru the mountains and came out on the mountain road by this restaurant. We thought, lets stop for a light lunch. How wrong we were, it just kept coming and coming. Only trouble was that night we due to meet friends for an evening meal hence why we just wanted something light. That evening we really struggled to eat.



They were very welcoming at that restaurant and like you we will definately be back, only this time we'll be prepared.

We've been up there too, well impressed with the food and service.

Only thing is, we were not offered...

Forgot to mention, after the meal they put on some music and did a bit of Turkish dancing for us.

Only downside is that you have to go outside to go to the loo (don't worry - proper loos!) and last night there was a howling gale, brrrr.

Have been to this restaurant many times and never disappointed. It is one of our favourites, very traditional, and always good value. In the winter with the fires inside it is lovely and in the summer the views are incredible - altogether a lovely experience.

we called on the way to Ercan for a 'light' snack in August! it was wonderful!! lovely mezes! good job we tucked in as we were delayed! recommended! a big YES!!!! x

Fantastic place to eat, particularly in the winter when the fires give a really great atmosphere. Can be very busy on a Sunday as it is very popular with the locals. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.
