I've been looking at flights for my niece from Newcastle to Larnaca in September and have found one for £189. Is this a good price?

It includes tax but I didn't go any further so don't know how much luggage would be etc. It is with Thomson and First Choice but not sure which airline.

J&J Just be careful with not going right through to the end. I booked a return flight for a Larnaca to Gatwick & return by Monarch flight in 2nd week February (Wednesday flight) for a friend, just this week. The actual "fares" were 5 euros one way & 16 euros the other way. No meals or specific seats booked. Taxes were approx 120 euros return & minimum 1 case for baggage of 20 kilos was approx 40 euros return. The total cost including the booking fee by credit card (exhorbitant) ending up as £160 sterling on the credit card. This is in February which would not be a popular month to return to the UK. or outward to Cyprus. Also this was the cheapest option, without any extras, unless you fly without luggage!! Interestingly the same flights on the same day, booked from Gatwick as outward instead of Larnaca, would have been £25 less. The taxes & the baggage charges & even the credit card charge would have been less. The flight charge would have been the same but quoted as £10 each way.

I've booked it. Total cost was £214 including 1 item of luggage up to 20kg (£20) and credit card fee of 2.5%.

Monarch charged 5% for booking fee by credit card!! So when you start their flight looks cheap 21 euros return. By the time you get to the end, you feel like you've been robbed.

Sheila 1] The weight you show might not quite match what the airline scales do. 2] Look at the Pegasus web site for the current charge from the UK in GBP its 8.00/Kg payment in TL might be to your advantage

Monarch sale ends 31/01/10, i have just booked a flight 22/04/10 for 8 days. Day flight £169 manchester-Larnaca seems cheap to me as monarch always seem to be cheapest.
