Was out on the Karabetca about 2 years ago, trolling around Lapta and we got one. not huge, probably about 3 or 4kg. I think it was around March or April but I could be wrong?

letty, just to let you know, probably you do; unless you have a spearfishing licence and obey the breeding and size rules of the fish - you may get serious fines. I had a few friends of mine (Tcs) been catched by police to get fines as high as 1000 and more YTL and all equipment confiscated.. It is not allowed to go fishing or spear fishing without licence. It is not allowed to shoot certain fishes under a certain size. Also the breeding seasons of octopus and groupers are controlled very strictly. To get your licence go to the Tarım Dairesi in Kyrenia just on the right of the Kyrenia state hospital. There they will help you. . good luck

Thank you for that. its never easy here to know what the rules here are due to the amount of times that some of them change. though i have aquired a spearing licence and a rod licence for my boat. Thanks DONTY if you got your dates right there is not too long to wait. How far out wore you and roughly how deep was it. 20 m 50m 100m roughly.
