Urgent help required please

A friend is in dire need of a prescription for tablets to help her anxiety, we were told by the local pharmacist that she would need to see a psychiatrist. We have been told that there is a psychiatrist at the general hospital in Lefkosia, does any one know if this is true and of so what days he/she is there? Many thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, I have had a look in the buzz book and the telephone no for the hospital is 0392 366 2876 also General Hospital in Kyrenia near the post office is 0392 815 2266 and Ozel private Hospital is 0392 8152155.



Hope you get somewhere with these if not let me know as I have a no for my doctor who speaks very good english and she may be able to point you in the right directions.

There is a psychiatrist who has a practice at the private doctors surgery near Sammys Hotel in Girne. His main practice is in Lefkosa but he visits Girne one day a week.

Turn down from the teachers hotel and it is on the same side nearer Sammys Hotel.

Thank you to Emma and BeeBop, my friend went to Lefkosa hospital and asked at the information desk at the policlinic and a very helpful young man translated what she needed and got directions for us. There is a big psychiatric department in the same grounds as the state hospital - it is the Baris hospital on the right as you go into the grounds. My friend registered and was seen by a lovely lady psychiatrist within half an hour. As she is now registered there she doesn't need to make an appointment and if she feels the need can call in any morning. How's that for service? I must say that anytime we or friends have needed medical help here we have been impressed with the efficiency and help on offer.

There is also one at the Green Clinic near the Pia Bella Hotel
