Try The Dolphin opposite Fast Food , as good if not better, used FF for 3 years but tried the Dolphin through a recommendation and now prefer it, no waiting either.

Well from my experience today. Stick to fast food always consisent, if you live the other end Karukum, found the little place opposite lemar, excellent, cheap and homemade chips to die for. Don,t think Kingston will worry Fast Food. Most people rate fast food, the proof of the pudding (or the kebab) is in the eating.

Me and my husband had a take away from Kingston last week. First time my husband had tried a Pide (Beef and Cheese) i had the same. We were both very very pleased and stuffed, i would certainly recommend it. Well done Kingston!

There is a big turnover of hungry people who go to Fast Food so the doners are fresh as a daisy. They have their own butchers shop in the village so only have the best. Now i need to go for my chicken wrap.Yummy

Fast food every time over Dolphin I have to say. I will give Kingston a try after picking up a menu, but despite the name they don't actually do Doner Kebabs so not any real competition to Fast food on that front! G

the kebabs here are seriously over rated........................... where I lived in the Uk (I realise that you shouldn't compare the two places) you can get a "mega" kebab for £10 delivered. It has about a 14" diameter naan bread, loads of donna meat, loads of Lamb shish & loads of chicken Tikka along with nearly half a chicken in tikka style burried at the bottom. On top of that you get all the salads & sauces (4 different kinds) & 4 of you would really struggle to finish it. £2.50 per person delivered for 4 people. Cant wait to go back to a real Kebab & no pitta bread in sight. If these people did kebabs here you wouldn't go anywhere else. Seriously, I am surprised that no one does a kebab like that here.

I must admit I agree with Ocean!! The doner in the U.K is much nicer!! Obviously like everywhere in the world you have know where to buy from... Fast food in Alsancak is one of the only few places that I would actually eat a doner kebap or any type of kebap, they are clean, food is fresh & most importantly they have consistancy, I have tried Dolphin & I didnt find it as good although it was ok.. My opinion Fast food in Alsancak is by far the best for a proper Cypriot style kebab..

msg 24 sums it up - "proper Cypriot style kebab". That is what we want not Indian style etc with whole chicken, that is not cyprus kebab. When we wnat Indian we go to an Indian etc. Fast food is best for us. Puts on a new piece of meat at start of every day, not as a lot do just start with what is left from yesterday, salmonella here we come!!!!!. Will never normally start a new one if one runs out during the day, you have to eat something else.

Donga what you have described isn't a 'real' kebab. I'm not saying it isn't great, but it's something your local place has created and it works for them. A 'real' kebab is Doner meat, salad and chilli sauce (?) in a pitta bread. Of course there are many variations nowadys, but I have to say that for a proper Kebab Fast food cannot be bettered. Tootie MSG 20 - Fast food is in Alsancak village centre. Coming from Kyrenia you turn left for Alsancak at the Golden Aphrodite statue and then drive for 1km into the village centre. It is on the right hand side opposite the BEST restauarant for turkish Meze - Cenaps. ENJOY G.

Thank you all very much for your lovely compliments and best wishes and I would like to take this opportunity to explain what Kingston Kebabs is and to say it is not in anyway similar or in competition with any Kebab shop this side of Girne. Kingston Kebabs is a Turkish Kebab shop nothing like a Cypriot or Greek Kebab shop. Kingston does not use Pitta bread or sell Doner kebabs. Our meat is bought daily from a local Alsancak Butcher and is all barbecued to order. The Breads we use are made daily on our premises. We make three types of bread, Lavas for the Wraps, Hamuru for the Lachmacun Base and Tirnakli pide Ekmegi for the table. The Salad we use is a traditional Turkish Salad mix of Parsley, Onion and Tomato. Hope this helps to stop the confusion between different Kebab shops.
