| mostly at hotels , you want a modem costs about £100 with 1st months rental , 60 tl per month therafter . |

| Yes, some hotels and cafes have wireless internet, but there is not much left unsecured so you'll probably have to pay something to someone for wifi internet access. As mentioned above, an alternative is to bring a dial up modem and pay the room charge for telephone (!) or you can buy mobile phone dongles but they are not cheap. If you have contacts over here, perhaps they could look one out at auction and get it going for you .. There are also various webcafes and the like; may be worth bringing a usb keyboard with you unless you are familiar with turkish keyboards (two i's and a mysterious ctl-alt thingy to get the '@'). | Extend and Arinet have been bought over by the Azeri chap who has lots of money. They have hot spots everywhere and I think their prices are reasonable. I heard that another 1500 transmitters for hot spots are on the way. ismet |

| Before we invested in a dongle and used the Turkcell system, we used the local internet cafe in Lapta, don't be put off by the look of it. Really nice guy, we took out own laptop up there 2YTL for an hour, a couple of times we overun, but he would not take anymore. |
