Ignoring the stupid comments, this case is quite serious and still has the potential for Geoff to be thrown out of the country at best.

The criminal case on 23/1 was adjourned pending the outcome of the civil case which was to take place on 27/1. With a new hearing on 5/2 at which time the judge and prosecutor appeared agreed on making a decision

Needless to say the builders side did not turn up. So G&M will be going agin on 5th knowing that in all likely hood it will be adjourned again. To then awaiting the next scheduled civil hearing on the 10th Feb.

If you understand that lot you are better at this than Geoff and Mary who are totally fed up (being polite)

Remember this has being dragging on for almost 4 years with close on 50 court appearnaces.

After going into the court on last appearance with G&M it really puts you off getting involved in the legal non-system here. Next time they are booked to appear go along and check it out it is a real eye opener.

So totally agree with your comments.

My husband and I also went along to give a bit of moral support to Geoff & Mary and like cyprusishome states, you really do not want to come up against the so called legal system here.

It really was an eye opener and quite frightening listening to what this couple have gone through.

I really hope more people go along to the next court hearing, not just to give support to this lovely couple but also to get an insight into what happens when it all goes wrong.

How many people know that if you are accused of theft it is not up to the police to prove you did the crime....it is up to the accused to prove they didn't?!!

Judy - message 10 - I must admit I found your last sentence scary in itself! I hope to goodness that I never have the misfortune to get embroiled in anything 'legal' in TRNC.

I hope you are keeping well.

Hi Jean

Having worked for the police for 12 years....I have to say it really is an eye opener here in regards to the legal system.

I'm good thanks....apart from just having a tooth removed and a bill for £1,500 for further treatment!!

Hope you are keeping well yourself.

Judy x
