What kind of stamps do I need for the Muhtar when obtaining his residency?

I believe they're called Damga Pul and can be purchased at the Post Office but it's a while since I had to do it so perhaps someone else can confirm this.

If you live in Karsiyaka then the stamps are provided. You just pay 10TL per person and the nice man in the Koop fills in the form and Bob's your uncle.

I thought they were government stamps which are different to ordinary postage stamps.

No they are just regular stamps, or they were each year I've done it.

The cost can differ. Here in Ozankoy it is 10 tl for a Muhtar letter and this includes the stamps. The cost of the stamps on the letter are about 1.30 tl. We know of other Muhtar's charging different prices

Just got ours last week.



We have just been to the police this morning with our paperwork and arrived at about 08.20 and were number 8. In and out within half an hour.

Far as I know the Muhtar provides the stamps, have just done our residency in Catalkoy cost to the Muhtar was 10tl. but I know that this can vary depending on where you live.

We have friends in Bahceli where the Muhtar charges 25tl. per person, bit over the top.

Lucky you lot, we pad TL50 per person the first year and TL50 this time (for 3). We come under Bahceli Muhtar

This year, you need 7tl postage stamps. Just your regular postage stamps, buy at the post office or at the immigration office in Lefkosia1

Muhtar letters require 2.5 tl stamps each.

Cant beleive how simple that was to answer,next in line please.



ps.Lapta muhtar charges 20 tl for letter without stamps.

Message 14, well, I thought I was being helpful giving the total cost rather than just the stamps - but ok, just to clarify I have just checked my letters which I got last week. They have a 1TL, a 25kr and a 5kr stamp on each, so the stamps come to 1.30 tl by my reckoning.

Yorgozul. Thought when I said that the stamps on the Muhtar's letter came to 1.30tl that the question was answered . This was accepted by the police, therfore cost of stamps 1.30tl.

You must have missed that one.

My muhtar charged us 5tl each this year - before, nothing! He said Ineeded 1.30tl stamps and he hadn't got them, so would I get them and just cross them through.

I did, but gfot 1.50tl. - just ordinary stamps.

Don';t get confused with the 7tl stamps you need at Immigration when you get your visa. But you can get those in the canteen there.

Our Zetinlik Muhtar charges nothing and wrote 1.50tl on the form. My local post office said it was 2tl so thats what I got!!

Lapta Muhtar 30 TL for two of us and 1.30 TL for each in postal stamps. Done last week and no trouble at Police Station. Hope this helps.

İ work in the Ozanköy muhtars office and the price of the stamps for your muhtar letter has recently gone up to 1.50tl on each letter, the stamps are included in the price of what we charge for the letter which here in Ozanköy is 10tl per letter.
