| am planning on importing some wood for furniture and some charcoal into cyprus. i have heard the tax paid on such imports are ridiculously high, owing to the fact that i have to pay import tax at two points namely turkey and here in North cyprus. can anybody give me advise as to how import tax is calculated (Tr+Trnc tax). am looking at an import size of aproximately 1ton. anybody with advise as to how to go would be really appreciated |

| I'd be interested to know how you get on with this. I had thought that if your shipment is not stopping in Turkey for goods to be sold there but will simply be shipped straight on out to NC, then there would only be import duties in NC. Isn't that how the Mersin freeport is meant to work??? |
