I brought my villa as a resale outright does that mean im allowed to have my own well dug in my own garden with the relevent (planning permission of course). anything we seem to do the builder is straight out and puts a stop to it, i know this is cyprus and all that but im debating on what way to move on this one, anyone else had same similar experiences.

Do you have a kocan yet. Until you do, you do not legally own the land or the house. Sad but true.

I know the kocan takes god knows how many years and the house is not mine untill, but surely when the builders eventully rip everybody of they can at least say that mug dug a well for us, bit of compromise would go a long way.

I can't see why a builder would object to you paying for a well on his property, as long as you ask HIM to arrange it at a special price, NOT! That's why he's objecting, it's because you're not using him.

So, so, cynical Mal, but also obviously correct. PS. jay76, I'm sure you know this but you must also apply for a well permit. They have to check that your well is a certain distance away from another well & also nowhere close to a cesspit outlet as well. No water under our land (sorry the landowner's land), according to a water diviner, years ago, so we've never had well problems.

Heard through the usual rumour system that well drilling is going to be heavily curtailed because there are too many draining the aquifers. This leads to shortages for everyone else. Personally would have stopped it long ago along with limits on new pools. All untill at least 2012 when the new pipeline is working.
