I am looking to purchase a carp rod/reel tackle, rather than ship from UK, anything suitable considered.

mike i would advise you get it in uk and get someone to bring it over , ive a lot of carp / coarse gear at our place but none for sale im afraid.

i brought a holdall full of gear and turkish ailines never charged a penny extra infact they were more concerned about it getting to the trnc unscathed !



quality tackle has never been so inexpensive here in the uk so it makes sense buy new and precisely what you want.

Sort of still on topic.

Being daft in the fishing department can a budding JR Hartley enlighten me as to how a Carp rod/stuff/tackle only catches Carp?

Is there a different type of rod for all different fish or groups of fish?

Oh! And I did see some fishing rods up at Amanda’s a few weeks back but they didn’t say what they would catch!! LOL.

chequin mess 5 . a carp rod is a special rod designed for medium to large freshwater fish they can have a test curve ratting of a pound to four pounds ( weight) . they are powerfull rods that can cast heavy terminal gear 150 meters plus. used in conjunction with bait runner reels they are specialist kit for specialist anglers.



ofcourse other fish are caught on them like tench , bream and catfish but carp anglers who can stay and fish a full week at a particular venue would class any other fish landed as vermin and not even bother weighing them . carp angling is now the most popular of all the angling types.
