I just could not believe what I was reading!

'Man denies schoolgirl dress Asbo breach in Northampton

A 60-year-old man from Northampton has denied breaching an Asbo which bans him from dressing up as a schoolgirl.

Peter Trigger, of Farndon Close, appeared before Northampton magistrates charged with breaching his Asbo three times.'

...He is also accused of wearing a skirt and having bare legs at 0905 GMT on 27 January this year, and again at 0907 GMT the following day - again breaching his Asbo....

You couldn't make it up, could you. )

It must be a cross-dressing problem not a cross-border one!

He is banned from wearing a skirt between 0830 and 1000 GMT and between 1445 and 1600 GMT on school days.

He is also banned from showing bare legs and behaving in a manner which causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to others.

Slap those legs that will stop him! )

Mark

What ? about being banned from wearing a skirt between '0830 and 1000 GMT and between 1445 and 1600 GMT on school days.' So he is allowed to wear one in between these times without breaching his asbo?

You are having a laugh. Oh and by the way what is to stop him from wearing tights?

Don't get me wrong, I do find it worrying but I also find the authorities attitude toward the situation even more worrying.

Hi AJ,

re 11

I think we both know that if someone wants to cross-dress it is their prerogative, in countries were 'freedom of expression' - within reason - is tolerated

I guessing the ASBO recipient hasn't committed a criminal offence, so the ASBO is the only way to restrict 'possibly deviant behaviour'

We agree this isn't the Britain of Margaret Thatcher's era ;)

Mark

Are you telling me that kids do not come and go from school during the 1.5 hours in the morning and the 1.25 hours in the afternoon that this abso is in place?

An old fellow in Newtownards where I went to school in N Ireland used to wear womens clothes under protest at women wearing trousers.

He said he would stop wearing a skirt when women stopped wearing trousers!

Someone once told him he had a ladder in his stockings - to which he replied" well climb up it and kiss my a*se"

He did nobody any harm and was not regarded as a threat to children - or anybody else - but then in those days we didn't have daily mail readers paranoid about having a pervert around every corner.
