For your information.

Went to Lefkosa today to complete the residency for my wife and I.

Arrived at 08:25 and was given numbers 33 and 34

Seen at 12:00, paid TL185.00 each, gave TL7.00 in stamps to the clerk, passport duly stamped and we were out at 12:20.

Various people tried to "push in" before their number was called but all were refused by the clerks on duty.

All in all, pretty good service.

Thankyou Martinev for your post. Very helpful.We're are planning to go to Lefkosa in the next few days hoping to obtain our tempory residency stamps on our passports.

We were unaware we needed to take stamps.Without your post would have had a wasted journey.

Is it 7lr stamps in total or for each person?

Can anyone advise when it becomes necessary to apply for a turkish driving license and how to go about it?

You can buy your stamps at the coffee shop in the Immigration building.



The Driving School Girls, apparently, can 'do' your driving licence for you - sorry, but I haven't a contact number for them, but someone surely does.

7TL stamps are for each person which you can purchase at the cafe across from the residency office. A North Cyprus driving licence used to be a requirement after 3 months residency but this period may have changed. The police station in Girne will advise you.
