Hi there I wonder if anyone can help me, I have been diagnosed with RA (see subject) on medication called metheotrexiate and have to have blood taken once a fortnight, my husband and I want to retire to NC but I need to find out how I go about getting my medication and bloods monitered on a fortnightly basis. Is there any specific clinic for this condition and of course the cost. This condition is relatively new to me and has thrown a spanner in the works, its also the first time I have done anything like this as well. We want to come to Kyrenia as we have been on hols a couple of times and decided thats were we want to spend our time with nice people and a more gentle pace of life, at the mo we are looking also for a villa with pool to rent in the catalkoy or ozankoy area so thats something else to ask if anyone out there can help.

Don't know about the bloods, but I've been told you can buy methotrexate very cheaply from most pharmacies in NC - hope this helps.

I have had RA for 12 months and am on monthly bloods. - Barb

I was diagnosed two years ago with RA and I have seen the only Rheumatologist on the island who is in Lefkosa. Her name is Yonca Morris and she is very thorough and professional. When I saw Dr Morris I think I paid 100tL but it may have gone up now. Any blood tests etc would be an extra cost. I have not needed to go back to her during the past 16 months. I feel so well!!!

Apparently mine is considered mild and I take Ibroprufen daily, exercise daily and I have changed my diet to not include bad acids such as Lactic acid and citric acid. These cause arthritis and aggravate it.

I also take Cider vinegar three times a day to help the joints and initially took a natural supplement from a clinic in UK. The formulation is made up for arthritis sufferers. Have a look at the Margaret hills website and I recommend reading the 'Treating arthritis the drug free way' by Margaret Hills.

If you would like to discuss further then give me your contact details and I will be in touch. Keep wel
