If you recall the story of the two stray dogs which turned up xmas day. Brother and sister who allegdley killed one or 4 sheep. The sister was shot dead and I retreived the boy. I have to keep him hidden which is so sad. I have had appeals for a home in Cyprus today for a home for him to no avail. Well tonight Im in pieces again as the police saw me walking him and followed me back to the restaurant. They didnt take him as I said he is now mine but its a matter of time. I will probably have to pay for the sheep. Anyway I am begging you . If anyone can offer him a home please open your heart. He is a beautifull pointer around 9 months, lovely loving nature. He will make a great guard dog. He is getting better with people as his social skills are improving. I need him homed urgently as time will run out. He has enduared so much in his short life. Please open your mind and hearts. Thank you xxx ican be contacted on 05338336911

Lilli, is there any proof that Jack killed any sheep, or was it just a story of the farmer? As you have told the police the dog is NOW yours, they can hardly hold you responsible for anything he MAY have done before. So, don't worry, but I just urge anyone out there who could give Jack house room to take him from Lilli . I am sorry I can't, but surely someone out there has a space for him. But to you, Lilli, don't worry. The dog is still alive; the police have accepted you are now the owner, and you have done no wrong. Sleep well - although we can all understand how desperate you are.

If he has killed sheep then there is no way he will stop, having tasted the blood. You always have to put down dogs who do this, in any country. Sorry, but that's how it is. We have had to do this to a much loved dog, but farming people know this fact.

phyl there is no way they never left me. I gave them so much food they couldnt possibly do it.I was set up as the other shops were complaining as they phoned the police again to say I had him. I took him to the beach yesterday and walked by sheep he was scared. no way and i will never accept it. If I beleive for one second that they did I would insist he be put down. I have heard many stories about this farmer would make your hair curl xxx If you read the original thread by DC with the photos everyone who saw them say the same they never ventured away from me

Yes, Phylray, but there is no proof that these dogs killed sheep. Some of us feel it was a put up job to ensure the dogs were got out of the way. I can't prove that, and unless the farmer produced the body of the dead sheep, it is just his word. Unfortunatley, as this is Cyprus, it doesn't always follow the same rules as anywhere else - what applies in U.K - particularly areas such as yours, is not quite the same here, as not quite the same morality exists. I was at Guidos the day that the dogs were accused of killing sheep, and I saw no trace of blood on them at all, which is what one might expect. The interesting thing here is that although Jack's sister was shot, no one has come after Jack, and if it was such a serious crime, then the police would have taken the dog away from Lilli on the spot. So, query, query, query. I do know that Lilli deserves a break and shoudl not suffer because of her generous heart!

Then I hope he will be spared if there is no proof. I know they are pretty gung ho about shooting dogs there, but there are some who care enough and hopefully a solution can be found.

Sheep are not allowed on beaches, so the shepherd is wrong there, neither are dogs. It's a pity the police aren't following up Little Nigel's report yesterday when he phoned to tell them that a car with 6 Greek Cypriots were pestering on the site where he lives and giving him grief. He can do without that right now. He phoned us as our son has a house on the same site. The police asked him what did he expect them to do about it????? I recall it was in the newspaper to report these visits with the vehicle number, which he of course did.

OH DEAR, bRIDIE. If Little Nigel gives me some info, such as car number etc, etc, at least the story can get passed through to some people who care - the North Cyprus action Platform, and various lawyers and former government officials comes to mind. Yes, people were told to tell the police, and we were assured the police would do their bit, so, as usual, the 'left hand does not know what the right hand is doing'. And as for Jack, (the dog!) 'Long may he live'. And no one seems to know WEHERE he is reported as killing the sheep. So, is it any wonder that the story kinda 'sucks'
