Hi wish2rent

I don't know how you intend publishing this information but I thought I should tell you that Vaha Spa in Karsiyaka is not a Michelin starred restaurant but their chef (who I believe is no longer there) had worked in a Michelin starred restaurant. Obviously there is a world of difference between the two and you could be in for some trouble if this is stated incorrectly.

Regards.

i really have to disagree they wont be in for some trouble here as any one can claim just about anything here with no comeback (unrecognised country) look at KFC as an example in Lefkosia, everything straight out of colonel sanders except the picture on the logo - it is one of the owner and in small letters kermia fried chicken, brilliant laugh at that one but there are many examples of it even on this board where in one advert they claim voted best car hire of 2007 but who voted it best car hire ??? the staff !!

Keep it lite

Hi Alison

I hear what you are saying but if you were taking information from this website and thought you were going to a michelin starred restaurant you might not be too happy about being misled.

Keepin' it lite.

Hi JoandJelly,

Thank you for the correction, the fiorum restaurant guide although from a small sample is quite comprehensive and the majority of restaurnats listed I have also frequented and agree with the members comments.

I notice that you do not have a location for Al Shaheen...just thoght I'd mention it's in Karakum.

Most of your unknowns seem to be in the Famagusta/Iskele/Bogaz area.

great list - Halfway House is actually in Karaman/Karmi, not Zeytinlik

A lot I haven't tried, seeing as I am still of age to work and earn a crap salary!!

No one has ever mentioned Beyti in Tin Pan Alley - best local, cheap grub if you can't afford to eat out in all these fine dining places!

These are my favourites (in no particular order):

Beyti - brilliant, good food and very cheap. Ideal if you want a quick in and out.

Kyrenia Tavern (Pasa Bahce), Kyrenia - traditional Cypriot food in a lovely setting.

Aphrodite, Lapta - traditional Cypriot food, a good place to take visitors for a bit of Cypriot atmosphere.

Cano's, Karsiyaka Village - kebabs, fish, excellent tandoori chicken, very reasonable

London Turan, Alsancak (just off main Lapta-Kyrenia road) - traditional cypriot food cooked by Turan's mum.

Oleander, Karaoglanoglu - great curry reasonably priced.

Missina, Karaoglanoglu - great for fish, good service and reasonably priced.

Pasta Mania, Edremit - fantastic king prawn risotto, good service.
