Can someone give me a yearly rate form the likes of Dopi, Smart, Digiturk etc.

Do you all get Nilesat and Hotbird?

What is the call out procedure like?

Many thanks

am with digital supreme, they seem to be ok and you get a good choice of channels. its a set up/instalation fee then so much a month should anything go wrong they can dial into your box through some 'free software' that you run on your PC or laptop but like all of the systems you get here there is nothing like a 'sky type' for content or service as am sure you know

We are with Dopi and yes it does have its ups and downs but over all it aint bad.I think its around £175 per annum and you get loads of films /sports /news /soap channels. Don,t recall how much they charge for set up but they are quite quick in getting you up and running.

Certainly would not recommend Dopi tv, the cost of the initial installation was quite high and not worth it in our opinion.

We now download our movies for free and watch UK tv via BBC iplayer plus itv and channel four (we never realised how many channels each of these have available with not being in UK for quite some time) but we had to buy a VPN which costs us the grand sum of £5 per month.

Members of this forum supplied us with all this info plus have also supplied us with different sites that you can download UK programmes for free.

We will be paying Eurosport either 5 Euros per month or 40 Euros per year (we haven't decided yet) and will be able to watch eurosport 1 & 2 plus eurosport news. Which ultimately works out a lot less than the likes of Dopi tv.

Can somebody please explain to me how to use the free tv channels from my computer to my tv. What lead or whatever do I need to be able to do this. Explanations as simple as possible please as I am not technically minded. Cheers

Heading over to cyprus shortly so need to have a go at the above and find out if it really works, do I need to bring anything with me from the UK eg leads or anything.

Depends what tv you have Sylvia as Plasma/LCD TV's have different connections from older more conventional tv's!

we had a very good system installed by a friend of tolga's. three dishes and we get all the tv channels we need including bbc entertainment, lifestyle, premiership, champions league, fa cup, winter olympics. in fact more sport than you can shake a stick at! cost fully installed was £450. no annual fee.

Sylvia

I have my laptop connected to my TV using a VGA cable. This is cheap as chips and simple to do. I play downloaded movies via the laptop through the TV. The sound comes via my laptop, speakers could be added to laptop if sound is not loud enough, but works fine on mine. Also I bought a remote (wireless) keyboard and mouse for 25 ytl so I do most of my pc work, across the lounge. Newer PC's have a hdmi port which can connect to some of the newer flatscreen tv's that are available now.

juliamoons msg 12: you can run a double ended headphone cable from the headphone point on your laptop to the sound in point on the back of your TV then the sound will just come from your tv - simple and much better than Laptop sound!

GOOD LUCK,

G
