I would be very careful. The penalty for working without a work permit is, I believe, a fine of the monthly minimum wage for every day you work and possible deportation.

Rowlo/Les

No one is being unpleasant to beckyandnev. Things are not what they were six months ago. The authorities are now taking this issue very seriously and the book is no longer worth the candle for illegal workers.

MSG 13;

tHATS ALL FINE WITH WHAT YOU ARE SAYING,BUT ,DO YOU KNOW THE AMOUNT YOU NEED TO HAVE IN THE BANK IN ORDER TO SET UP YOUR OWN COMPANY.In case you dont,$100,000.

Now,could you tell me if you could put that amount in the bank just to set up a company that does ODD jobs.Never mind the annual costs for running it.

By the way,it is the same amount for TCs as well,I should know.

Sorry for the capitals at top,but cant be bother to change them.

Re message 14 - it is NOT the same for Turkish Cypriots. Why? because Turkish Cypriots can be self employed without the need to start up a limited company. Foreigners are not permitted to do this.
