Hi I will start again, as you can see I'm new to this sorry. I wondered if anyone could recommend some restaurents for a fussy eater. We are taking my Aunt and Uncle on holiday in July and staying in Alsancak. My Aunt eats very little meat only chicken and likes simple food. Is there any nice restaurents that serve English & Local food? Many thanks Lisa

I think there is a fish and chip restaurant called CodBaba or something like that on road towards Lapta - I think its just before the junction where you turn left towards the American University. The restaurant I think is on your right.

my mother-in-law has just been for two week visit and will only eat 'British' food, her favourite restaurants are Ravine, Kervanseray and Haci Ali. Haci Ali do a 'British style' fish and chips. She had the kleftico at the Ravine (available on Sundays) which was very adventurous for her and she loved it. good luck!

Thanks for all your help everyone, will take the list of recommended restaurants with me. She says she is going to live on omelettes all week. I think we may be having a lot of bar-b-ques at the villa we have rented. We are looking forward to seeing how our appartment is going, lets hope we are in for some good news? Thanks again Lisa

Hi Lisa&Mark - I would have suggested you give the Black Olive Cafe a try for your Aunt, but they will be closed during July for holidays. Perhaps next time she visits she can give them a try. As suggested above Kervan Pizza Garden (near the Mercure Hotel) does good food (including omelettes!) also The Ravine, personally wouldn't go back to the CodBaba as the first and last time we ate there my food was still frozen when it was served! Hope you find something that pleases her! ltd

hi ltd, shame you had a bad experience at the codbaba, i was out there early april and had three good meals there, fish and chips of course, good service, nice cuppa tea, i know others who use it regularly, only drawback was they have not perfected mushy peas yet, however the waitress was real "eye candy", cheers f&c

Hi FISHNCHIPS - 'eye candy' doesn't really do it for me!!! (prefer the opposite sex myself). The only reason we went there was because my father wanted to try it, and their food was ok - perhaps the cook saw I didnt really want to be there!! ltd
