The doctor who failed to identify the injuries of the violent abuse that Baby P had suffered was due to attend a disciplinary hearing today, she failed to appear as * her mental health has completely broken down". In actual fact this lady had left the country, will she be able to practice in another country while this charge remains unanswered?

As it was only a disciplinary hearing and not a court case she will probably be allowed to practise medicine in her country of origin as the charges will only apply to GB.

Scandalous but what can you do!!!

Hold on a minute you've all got her tried and convicted already.

I know there appears to be Prima Facie evidence of negligence and failure to act in accordance with medical guidelines but really you ought to be above the kind of speculation the gutter press love to bombard the mob with.... ought you not?

I understand the doctor in question is close to a state of suicidal self-harm over this... let's not be a kangaroo court. There are enough of those about as it is.

Smithy I know it's an emotive subject but your last sentence seems to be implicating other doctors.. Are any other doctors guilty of the negligence this woman stands charged with?

Grouch

I know doctors can make mistakes like the rest of us but when a young child dies because his severe and extensive injuries were not picked up by a doctor naturally people get angry.

If this lady is so traumatised by it all then that is understandable, but should she have been allowed to leave the country before the facts have been established, didn't Baby P at least deserve that
