A few glasses of wine in the sun suggests:

1. Personal family safety - Streetcrime/burglary/Mugging/Car crime/Lack of respect for children and older people

2. Mass immigration - I do not want to live in Lagos or Somalia

3. Schooling - as above unless £25,000 a year private

4. General overcrowding

5. Transport - Bus/tube/ taxi - at night forget it!

6. Car - cost of petrol/Camera's/Traffic wardens/congestion charge/residents parking/parking anywhere

7. Cost of entertainment - Supper Club style is 5 - 600TL equivalent in London

8. Housing costs - Price/council tax/TV Licence/Water rates

9. Junk mail/junk telephone calls

10. The weather!



OK re TRNC:

1. No secuirity of asset i.e. house

2. Travel outside TRNC - expensive/pain

3.Car purchase cost/road tax

4. Business costs

5. Electricity/Gas costs

6. Communication costs - internet/TV/Phone



Any others? - add all the plusses such as weather, people attitude,scenery etc and I know why we left London!

Bit thin on the ground for entertainment though, unless one is into hunting and fishing....
