Are there any problems hiring a car in the south and taking to the north ? Do you have to pay for separate insurance at the crossing/border? |

Use aonecarhire.They will pick you up at Larnaca drive you over the border then take you to their shop in Girne.Where you can hire from there,

| i know someone that picked their car up at larnaca , didnt even ask or tell the hire company in the south they were taking it north , paid what ever insurance at border and had a great holliday . |

| It is risky though. If you have an accident/problem, they have your credit card details and it probably says not to take it across in the small print. I've done it before but you are taking a risk.Probably better going with greylag's suggestion. |

| I used Fontana in 2008, told asked if I could take over the border, no probs. Bought insurance for the TRNC at Metehan.
Only problem is that if you have accident or breakdown you have to pay to have the vehicle taken to the border. |

| For piece of mind you need to be picked up at Larnaca and driven over by the hire company.I have done both but was always on edge when driving a southern car in the north just in case something went wrong.We always use aonecarhire,
