Anyone experienced this food...the sweet and sour chicken in particular?

We hear all too often the food being good but expensive ! Come on guys, don't you realise that the reason why any food tastes good is usually quality ingredients used and the skills of the chefs which don't come cheap !!

The food is fantastic and worth every penny. Hubby had sweet and sour and I had beef and mushroom - fab!

Well maybe I was unlucky. My sweet and sour chicken balls were not good at all. Sauce was great though. The batter was knobly and chewy and the chicken was very tough, you know when you get bits left between your teeth. The next day I could not even cut them they were like rubber.

Msg 5: lostfound, expect it did seem tough if you've got rubber teeth.

I thought it was ok but rather expensive, good ingredients or not. Didn't realise the noodles were extra when I ordered chow mein. 40tl for 2 chow mein takeaways.

Lostandfound it is owned by the Dragon, and on sundays when they are closed you can get a takeaway from the Dragon.

Its my fav takeaway, usually have beef noodles always great with big portions and i just love the little boxes it comes in, always packed full and enough for two so not as 'expensive' as it looks

yes it would have been enough for 2 days, I certainly scoffed the noodles the next day. Having remembered how delicious sweet and sour chicken balls were in the UK 5 years ago, my mouth was watering and just had to have them again.....but was very saddened at how awful they were especially as there is quality chicken in Cyprus. Can someone else order them and tell me what their opinion is.

Well, we must have been unlucky as well! We love the Dragon at the Rocks and was told that this was owned by them and would be good ............ we had an absolutely awful meal and definitely would not waste our money in their again!

I think it is very expensive and crap tbh...I asked the owner why he charged so much and he said chicken was expensive etc etc, I roared with laughter..don't know how all the other restaurants manage to charge reasonable prices ... it is twice the price of an english chinese and nowhere near as good. Still I suppose he has to charge a lot so he can go an lose it all in the casino!

We have never had a bad take away from the Dragon at Karakum. I love sweet and sour chicken balls and theirs were excellent. Their portions are big too. Maybe we all have to speak as we find and some people have perhaps been unlucky.

Forgot to mention that the sushi was wonderful on the three occasions we have had it from the Dragon at Karakum!
