Like many of you, rain stopped play today (cancelled birthday do's x two) and couldn't get to town to get car which 'im downstairs' busted yesterday, and with no electric, went down the hill for coffee at Guidos. And we walked into their new special offer of a daily special. Three courses for 20tl. Fab. Now I don't eat rubbish and I have to watch the spreading waistline, so what did I get? Fab leek soup, special chicken dish, and fab ice cream with praline, whilst himself had same soup, stroganoff and mousse.

Don't normally have lunch out, but today saved our metaphorical bacon.

And the good news is that the special offer is not just for today, and Guido told me he is start a cookery course so that everyone can cook as he does.

And again, like many of you, I just hope they stay.

Now I have never met Guido or Lilli although I have popped in to see what was available - but I recommended their restaurant to friends who were staying at our villa last Aug/Sept. They usually holiday in Italy and love Italian food. When I looked at Guido's site I saw they offered courses and got them to get in touch - which they did and had a fantastic time!

Don't post on here very often - for obvious reasons! But feel like I know a lot of you cause I visit every day (ok more than once a day - it is addictive) so have picked up on how a lot of businesses are suffering.

Given Guido's catering talents I would suggest that this is something that they should advertise more widely - I am sure there are loads of people who would love to go on a course like this be it half a day, one day or even a week!!!

We are based east of Kyrenia - so not a 'local' haunt for us - but if I am passing next time I am out - will defo pop in and hope to meet both Guido and Lilli

Sorry Andrew to hear that you haven't had a free meal yet. Just for the record, neither have I? Just that some facts are worth sharing.

And Guidos know that I already have a 'second home' in town known as Cafe Dukkan which is well worth a plug for anyone in town - quite different to Guidos, and a place I have known from day one. So when I say that Guidos is good on several levels, you gotta believe me. There is nothing in it for me, except to share the news that some nice folk offer a nice service to nice people.

Tamam?

And sorry Lilli if I beat you to it, but I had to!!!!! Anyway, gave you a chance for people to see that you don't just blow your own trumpet! We do it for you!

Messages 19 and 20 you must have both had a tipple, because unless I am mistaken, it is not next to, or Vica Versa, there are a few shops in between.

( Just my Wolverhampton sense of humor) sorry
