I'd be interested too... (lead not Mars)

We could do with some proper lead flashing done by a real roof plumber.

Hi biglugs,

"i use other methods"

Ok, spill the beans, )))

I'm sure there are lot's of houses that need "other methods"

after all the rain we've had.

Our's included :-(

Lead!!!! What are you thinking of? Use lead on your roof and you will have all the angry non-smokers after you for adding lead poison to their fresh air!!! Think of all the people you will kill off with your nasty lead based habit!

It will be on your head when local kids come around and start licking your roof then off to the local solicitors to start the court case and the GC's will certainly be in uproar about it, just like they are over the paint on the flag!

Ban lead I say and stick to good EU approved non-lead based flashing materials. I put some of the non-lead flashing onto a lean to against my garage, right in the full force of yesterdays wind and rain - not a drop got through by the way. You can buy it in different sizes to make life easy and if you wait till the weather heats up a bit and put it on then it sticks like s**t to a shovel!

unfortunatly nothing last like lead and in the right hands a lead dressed roof will last a lot longer and also look better if it last longer is it not greener i dont know but since they stopped using lead there are a lot more leaky chimneys and flashings you would never get this with lead so more paint more flash band at least 3 times lead once

Groucho,

I bought one roll of flashing from Cagra in Karakum and another from Coban in Catalkoy. Both the same make and both very good and solid. I think it must be available in almost every Yapi so just ask around. First roll was about 6 inches wide and second roll was double that width. I did put it on in the heat of last summer then tried to take a bit of the excess off just before Christmas - gave up in the end and painted over the excess as it would not budge. Recommend rubbing downing brick/tile or paintwork with a wire brush first to give it that extra grip but can not fault it so far.

If you lived in Barnsley you pay a visit to the nearest church roof after dark
