Can I take a hire car from the north to the south,if so how much is the insurance,I want to go to ikea

Hi millwallmik, You will need to get written permission from the car hire company to take the car North to South. Don't know how much the insurance is...Sorry

25 euros for insurance , as vicki says check with hire company before crossing ,

If you buy anything from Ikea, remove packaging as the North side does not like you bringing IKEA stuff and may confiscate it.

Also don't think you will be able to take a North car hire to South

Petemate, I have taken a North side hire car over to the South many times but, you must get written permission from the hire company, as they ask for this at the border.
