Hi does anyone know where I can find info on bringing food into either Larnaca or Ercan. We are arriving at Larnaca then taxi to the north.

Good luck with your quest but it would help if you said where from I suspect. Harold

No meat. No dairy. No plants or seeds. No fuit. No veg. Apart from the above, you can bring anything you want.

It's a chance you take. Have brought foodstuffs through both Larnaca on route to north and also direct to Ercan. Got the butcher to vacuum pack it but I am aware if I am stopped it will be confiscated and I would have to have a very blonde moment. I have been lucky so far but know that some people have been caught out. Good luck if you do decide to go for it.

It is reckoned that the last foot & mouth outbreak in the UK was caused through illegally imported meat. It may seem petty to travellers but these restrictions are there for the same reasons we don't allow dogs into the UK without quarantine.
