I would suggest that the 'love affair' between the US of A and Turkey may just go a little bit cold if Turkey does not make it into the EU.

I cannot for the life of me understand the thinking and timing of this deliberate slap in the face to Turkey...I would make a far better politician no matter what side of the pond I was on....utter disbelief.

I also cannot understand the mentality of those who post on here.....we get hundreds of pointless new posts of 'where can I get curtains' or' has anyone got a second hand quilt for sale, must be cheap' etc etc, yet nothing about this ....

Dee,

Perhaps the Turkish parliament could have a little debate about 'extraordinary rendition', where US officials kidnap, imprison and interrogate foreign citizens from foreign countries ... then bung 'em in Guantanamo to rot.

What's good for the goose is good for the turkey!

Excellent post Basil...I was appalled when I heard this on bbc last night, I except the turks were no angels in WW1 and the Armenians suffered but war is war and a lot of unpleasantries go on...but the world seems to continuallly bash Turkey and I for one just wish Turkey would say ' we have had enough ' and tell teh USA and the rest to shove the EU where the sun doesn't shine.

How many resolutions/bills regarding Israel's wanton killing of innocent civilians in Gaza and the flagrant use of banned weapons such as phosphorus munitions, have been passed through the U.S. congress, non me thinks. And this is current, happening now, not 90 years ago. Crazy world we live in.
