Well today the article came out in the newspapers, so hopefully volunteers should come flooding in!!



the site now has a few fun widgets...including a weather table and a chat room...soon to come will be google earth maps and a 'what to do if...' blog by a retired vet....all good fun stuff to keep people interested!



also soon to be announced, there will be a launch party, whereby i shall invite some news press to attend, to get as much coverage as possible! I hope you can all make it....



When you register as a member, you will be able to post anything you like...ie pictures, videos and even be able to blog about your favorite pet...again, all fun stuff...and all for a great cause!! So come on everyone...get your fingers typing, and join up!! http://rescueuskyrenia.com/

Lot's of people get fed up hearing about Pet information on this forum so Sam is trying her best to limit the amount of information she puts on here hence the link to the website that has more information

RE msg 5, Proger1: I do support any idea to help people/pets. But I think it's an error to start a web site without first organising a meeting of interested people (or have I missed an invitation?). During a meeting we could have brainstormed about the many aspects of "Rescue us Kyrenia..." and one of the points should have been to make a plan of action/promotion. One article in Cyprus Today and some posts on this board will not be enough to make it all work. Too bad - but only my opinion.

Dutch, I am just the web guy.

Once I have set the site up to its best that I can muster but still easy enough for DD to add/delete phots and editing articles, I will be handing it over to her with me as a background player for software support.

In defence of DD though, I do remember very well the pressure she was getting for having the idea but not pushing it forward, the irony is Dutch that DD has continually asked for assistance but so far there have been near 20 thousand hits to the unfinished web site and only one volunteer. I don't know how many hits to the forum or blog as they are not held o my server, I can't afford to pay for that as well.

I was ready to give up on the idea but DD asked me to give it another try and I believe I am doing a reasonably nice website but you may be right, it might not work. The only thing I can honestly say is that DD and mydself have put in a lot of effort and we can't be blamed if people just aren't interested.

=> Proger1, I didn't mean to start a blame game at all - I know something about web sites and appreciate what you have done and still are doing. I only posted, because I had told Daisy that I was prepared to visit a meeting to brainstorm, but for one reason or another this meeting was not organised (afaik). And the lack of a solid basis before starting this project (which is much more than building and maintaining a web site), I think, may break up the whole idea. Again: too bad and absolutely nothing personal.

I didn't take it personally Hans, don't worry.

What started off for DD was a basic idea that maybe people would be willing to take on either a pet or an additional to thier own pet for a few weeks when someone is stuck but so far nobody has actually requested it, all people seem to be looking for is somewhere to rehome thier pet and as has always been up to now the forums and escpecially yourself are helping out with that so people are still using the forums. I amy have jumped the gun a bit on 2 occasions firstly by releasing my first attempt at a site to get the information out and secondly by releasing the second version which is vastly better in my opinion but not ready yet. Tomorrow is my target date for base stuff and then it should just be stuff sent from interested people.

I know DD wanted to organise a meeting at probably Guidos but what happened to that I don't know.

Just a little info for you though Hans, you upset DD a but recently but I am sure she would appreciate help.

=> You talked about a meeting several times before the web site was launched. But possibly again you have a different interpretation of what you said and what happened than I have. So be it. I wish you good luck with your initiative - I shall not join nor again be bothered exchanging messages with you about this subject.

Hi i remember a meeting last year.and everything was talked about,there were quite a few supporters,and the meeting was held at Lillis,DD,has often asked for help and support from all who are interested in the whole venture,so i do not understand the question when was the meeting.?? am i the only one who remembers.?.I also understand that DD has again stated that she will be having another meeting in the near future,so all intrested are i guess awaiting the date,which i am sure will be in due course..So whats the problem? Well done both Daisy and Prodger for getting it started so far,lets just hope all on here keep things going for the sake of all the dogs.

Thank you Spider....i actually thought that everyone had forgotten about this meeting! This is where i came up with idea of a website....It was mentioned on here and there were quite a few folk that turned up (not Hans).



Anyway, i have a date in mind for the next meeting, and will likely post it here tomorrow (or the next day)
