Returning to Ercan from LHR yesterday (one hour late in departing), CTA brought the levels of customer service to new 'heights'! No beer, no wine, one bottle of whisky which didn't last the 1/3rd full 737 airplane to Ismir so had to make do with a G&T with a pasta dish in a tired, dry tomato and cheese sauce which was inedible! However, the plane did fill up at Ismir whereupon a fight nearly broke out between a TC and a T boarding the flight about the differing merits between the two Nations! Even though one stewardess did try to calm things down no action was taken to throw them off the craft. My bilingual next seat passenger was translating for me. The chairman's (Erol Atakan) monthly CTA magazine report was primarily concerned about how CTA gained first place in safety against all its Turkish rivals. Maybe a little customer service and competitive pricing might just bring this flying beached whale into the real World! Richard

Wanderer, It seems like that flights are only once a week - Mondays. I have found plenty of seats for all Mondays in June but at £327 for a return ticket it doen't sound like a great deal!

I ask for a complaints form as soon as i board a CTA plane now to save time, hanging round at the end of the flight! The customer service the flight attendance and ground workers give is among the worst I have ever recieved... Mind you, Pegasus wasn't any better either. It's no wonder so many people are choosing to fly into Larnanca.

Richard Msg 1 - At IAH we can also supply Birmingham Istanbul Ercan flights or Birmingham Antalya Ercan flights. The first have a plane change the second are overnight changes. Don't complain about the BHX ECN CTA flights being is short supply as they are keeping them there with a very short thread. Maria Msg 5 - I have heard similar comments about Larnaca flights - you rather surprise me with Pegasus as most of their staff are fine.

Tom Msg 6 Tom, I think our wires are crossed, as per our phone conversation pre Christmas, I travel from Bristol not Birmingham which is of absolutely no use to me whatsoever in terms of airport terminal public transport connections! Richard

I agree with msg 8. I always use Turkish Airlines when I can. They managed to get my luggage ruined in the works in Istanbul but had it in Ercan the next morning. They paid up for a new suitcase promptly and with no problems. The plane was clean and new and the meal reasonably edible .

you have to pay for Turkish Airlines big time though. We have booked a one way ticket on CTA at a cost of £168. The same with TA is £297 - no contest. I can put up with a lot to save that kind of money.

Message 17. Rigsby, When did you book with Pegasus? I'm talking about booking today. I've just been quoted £265 return on Pegasus and £281 on CTA for one person to Stansted and I want to go to Heathrow !!! Message 18. Sorry, Dusterbruce but it's quicker and cheaper for me to travel Catalkoy, Larnaca, Heathrow than Catalkoy, Ercan,Stansted or Heathrow this time. I normally fly Pegasus and hire a car from Stansted but if I fly to Heathrow, I don't need to.
